Somava S. Stout, MD MS is Vice President of Patient-Centered Medical Home Development at the Cambridge Health Alliance and Co-Director of Leadership Programs at the Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care. Her work focuses on the transformation of health systems in underserved communities to achieve better patient experience, quality and health at a sustainable cost and a meaningful experience for caregivers. She is engaged in both implementation and in study of the key success factors needed for achieving this transformation in safety net systems and communities. Cambridge Health Alliance’s transformation has achieved national recognition. Dr. Stout was published in Health Affairs in 2012 as an inaugural recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Young Leader Award. She has consulted to leaders of health systems throughout the US and the world on transformation of health systems to meet the needs of communities, including Guyana, Brazil, Mexico and the UK.
